Release Notes

Version 2.1 of the Image Resizer is a minor update (major to some, I'm sure) that fixs some of the tool's most annoying "features".

Reviews for this release

I work with technical documents that require that images be re-sized to 3.5 inches in width, so that they can be inserted, double-columned, into a Microsoft Word document. Image Resizer only allows the re-sizing of images to a preset or custom size based on screen resolution. Too bad this hasn't evolved to something more useful. Have to go back to running batch commands to get the job done.

Phenomenal work! Glad that you took the time to make the lifetime of the powertoy a little longer. Again, thanks, -- techdude

Was looking for the same image resizer that was made to Windows XP and found this one. Great value and easy to use. Works even on network mapped drives very fast.

Could only be better if there was an option to reduce to a relative file size (instead of picture size). And a batch extension change like all png files to jpg. However; this product works! its small, non-intrusive, and strait forward easy to use.

Does exactly what it says. Wish there was a way to customize the dimensions & quality, though

Awesome tool, just what I needed on Windows 7 x64!
by HQRaja on Aug 22, 2010 at 1:13 PM
One suggestion: Offering a quick resizement in context menu might be a good choice. such as 800x600 1024x768 ...
by skies457 on Aug 16, 2010 at 6:09 PM
The utility is simple does exactly what it says. I'm using on 32-bit Windows 7. Great work, thanks for sharing with the community!

An excellent Powertoy, much missed from my XP days. I also would love if there was a progress bar, when resizing many photos (particularly if they're on an external disc) the Explorer window simply freezes ("Not responding") for several minutes as the resizing is done.

Excellent upgrade to an already great tool. The original had custom size feature, however, getting to perform fixed width or fixed height conversion is inconsistent. However, with this Clone, I can finally get consistent performance. No more working around bugs.

Fantastic Effort! Thank you so much.

A THOUSAND GOLD STARS! Thank you for creating an image resizer for Win7 and Vista! I absolutely loved the XP Power Toy Image Resizer and have been completely lost without it, since I moved to Windows 7. It's so much easier and quicker to use than trying to resize through my image editing software products! Remembering my previous settings? So very KEWL!
by tjingham on May 1, 2010 at 11:35 AM
Brilliant execution of something so simple, but badly needed. Custom field is an absolute necessity, so thanks for that!
by chevas on Apr 19, 2010 at 11:16 PM
Very nice. I search for such software (free) for a while.

I have searched the web for a month trying to find this tool for 64 bit Windows 7. I think it works better than the XP powertoy because it remembers my preferences (the XP version had to be set each time). The only thing I would add would be a status bar while in progress. Other than that, GREAT JOB!
by car6racing on Jan 19, 2010 at 6:32 PM
Quick and easy to use. Downloaded and worked in about a minute. I have been using free version of VSO but for basic reduction this is quicker and easier.
by Goldgordon on Jan 16, 2010 at 9:42 PM
fantastic, i tried a few others, but this one is excellent, exactly like the original, which was also very good :) tim
by timmy_toad on Jan 14, 2010 at 6:54 PM
missed it since XP! Love it!
by scendix on Jan 14, 2010 at 11:16 AM
It did a very good job of cloning the Powertoy! It is nice to be able to quickly resize an image before sending or uploading it.
