Hello,

Image Resizer (v. 3.0.4802.35565) has a problem with updating the prev. version under system context at Windows 7 & 8 64 Bit. The screenshot attached hangs more then 2 minutes and then appears the "Setup Seccessful" window. At "Pargrams and Features" both versions old and new are visible. Other installations under 32 bit works fine.

Is there any resolution of this issue in the works?
I just came across the same warning upon install and Kaspersky killed it.

Please advise if you have a patch or if I need to choose the obvious workaround.

Hi,
customer scaling windows meaning is: W - H
That means if I put only a value on the W windows 66% ( left one), on an image 800x600 I expect to retrieve an image 528x396. But I obtain an image sizing of 396x297 that means the value is apply first on the height and given to the width instead of the height.

The same thing if you apply a percent only on the right windows the value is applied on the first dim of the image.

To summarize the prioritization of resizing is the reverse of the common sense from my point of view, of may be just an error on the value name on the affectation.

Well, I have removed the newest version already and am not inclined to reinstall it. I don't recall seeing that option but your choice it to "fit on a 1366 x 768" screen. If an image is over 768, it won't fit, so wouldn't that thought that would be necessary. The fact that you have to click a button with the mouse to start the resizing rather than pressing enter was already an issue. I'll just keep 2.1.

I just downloaded version 2.1 and was trying to find the original images to try to reverse this problem. Surprisingly the ones from today and yesterday are in the recycle bin. When looking at my resized image, it's not even consistent in a folder full of images resized at the same time. Some were resized W x H and some were resized H x W. If this is a bug, it needs fixing; if it is a feature it needs to be documented or given some more thought. I don't appreciate my images resized the way this version did it and have happily reinstalled version 2.1.

I'm having this issue too, the previous versions resized width x height, the new one is the reverse and that's not what I want. I don't see anyway to change it.

When processing images taken on my Canon G9 all is well provided I have not edited the image first with ACDSee. If it has been edited then the error message as attached is generated: The Image Data Generated an Overflow During Processing.

The original version of Image Resizerdid not exhibit this problem; it has only been present since updating to the latest issue.

Hi,
I am currently using this on my server and i have been for years now. It is great! I am running server 2012 and i have noticed some issues with the newer builds. When i resize, it does not keep the users that were originally there and i have to go into the advanced settings to re apply those users to have read control. Otherwise the images cannot be seen on my website. This is very frustrating. Please resolve this in the future build. I have contemplated just installing a very old version to resolve this, but i do like some of the new features.

First of all, thanks a lot for the application.

I installed the app on Win7 Ultimate N, SP1. App version is 3.0.4442.6002. After installation, context menu did not changed (ie no "Resize pictures" on the explorer right click menu). After checking registry, I've seen registry key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\Image Resizer, but its data was empty (ie no link to the app). I found the relevant link to update the value ({51B4D7E5-7568-4234-B4BB-47FB3C016A69} in my case) but editing/deleting existing key was not possible. Regedit gives the error message: "Cannot delete Image Resizer: Error while deleting key."
So I added a new key to the menu with the link data value. Name of the key is not relevant, whatever you name it, it does the job. Now context menu shows Image resizer and the application works. But I still can not delete the faulty key, even after restart.

When user tries to resize the image by selecting custom option, and he enters negative value in either of the input fields or in both fields , then the resizer outputs the inverted image.

Reproducing Steps:
1. Right Click on any image and Select the resize option from the drop down
2. Select Custom radio button in the resize window
3. Enter the negative values in either or both of the fields.
4. Click on resize button
5. Verify the image which is been resized.
6. The resized image is displayed as inverted image(BUG).

Suggestion: Whilst inserting the negative integer into the custom fields the resizer software must throw an exception saying that "User cannot enter the negative integers."

The fields definitely need to be validated (See [Work Item 08347](http://imageresizer.codeplex.com/workitem/8347). However, I believe that the only valid reason a user would enter a negative number is because they intend to flip the image on that axis. Already, if a user leaves a field blank, Image Resizer calculates what the value should be based on the other value they entered.

If I do decide to keep the inverting behavior, I will certainly document it.

applications text box can,be given any range of values , there is no mention in the project description about not entering different type values . Hence it is a bug , a feature is one that has new functionality to offer to the users of this application.

This actually sounds kind of cool. I usually have to fire up an app to do an invert. Maybe it could become a "feature" ... with a control in the GUI to make it happen, I guess.

When i checked the "do not check for updates again" checkbox startup is now almost instant where before when update checks were being done it took 10 seconds to startup.

I am running the previous version, and had never seen the version check box before, but I had been suffering with the slow startup time. I will try the new release sooner or later, but since I need working software this week for a project, I will just report that turning off the update check seems to have fixed the long delay on the older version for me as well.

I will be making sure that I can find the old download in my file system before installing the new one, since the older release does not seem to be available any more and I don't have the option of building it from source code.

I really, really like this project, I use it on my main system plus it saves me having to deal with images when on a system with no graphics apps when I am on site. Kudos to the dev!
