I know how Powertoys worked in Windows xp and 7 but I can't make it work in Windows 8.
I have installed it but there is no RESIZE option in context menu when clicking on a picture file.

Any idea ?

Thanks.
My question is which version of the Image Resizer is compatible with Windows 8?
Version 2.1.1 or only the beta 3... one?

New Post: Notice about Image Resizer Bug from SmartFTP?

I just started up SmartFTP and this dialog popped up:

More Info

I wasn't sure if you were already aware of, and didn't see anything after a search, so thought I post (the issue was created there back in 2011). I have had some issues with drag n drop in Directory Opus, and in the Location Bar of Google Chrome (can't highlight anything in the Loc bar, cursor is locked) lately, but I'm not sure whether it's related to the IR extension or not yet. I haven't re-tried those things after uninstalling IR, but I just updated to the latest IR, so I wanted to try it first.
Would love if you could also add in an option to "Wipe EXIF" data while doing a resize. A simple checkbox, and then literally erasing all EXIF data on the final resized images.

Also, on PNG images I always like to run them through PNGGauntlet to shrink them as much as possible. It'd be great to have a checkbox to automatically run the resized image(s) through it when resizing as well.

To start, I've been testing this software to see if it's something I can deploy at my company. It's very handy and works great! Thanks for maintaining it!

Is it possible to disable the update notification? I received it when I used the program today. I definitely do not want my users to get notifications like this, for any software that we use. Registry entry or something like that?

EDIT: Ok I found the CheckForUpdates option in AppData and in Program Files. Once you have .msi files available, how can I ensure that that option is set for every user on the machine right after deployment? Do I roll out the modified ImageResizer.exe.config at the same time?
I have another computer now (Win 8) and downloaded Image resizer yesterday....with no problems. When pictures are imported from the same camera I've been using, Win 8 automatically rotates the picture on my desk top. When I resize the pictures, they still have the correct orientation, but when I attach the pictures to different web sites (Which worked for years) the pictures that were shot sideways return to the sideways orientation to the end user. This is for a business and is not professional to ask them to go in and rotate my pictures. Please help. Thanks Barry
After a quick search, I found the FastPictureViewer Codec Pack that might work. I'd recommend downloading and installing the free trial to see if it works with Image Resizer. I suspect that the resized images will be converted to jpegs.
